A self-indulgent turn back to my childhood. Plus, I seem to have this problem sticking to any particular genre. Does this hurt my chances of becoming famous? Maybe. Do I care?

Meh…

A redemption story. An adventure. An assortment of riffraff coming together to serve their disparate interests, and in the end saving the world. Well, the town of Vernont, at least.

And monsters, of course, plucked right out of the D&D literature. An ode to my teenage years playing the game. But with a writer’s twist (like The Pan would twist his knife in their guts — look Ma, internal linking!)

Book One: Winter’s Ember

Our heroes first come together to vanquish a dreadful foe. Adventures and dungeons ensue, of course.

You can read the book’s first chapters here on the website, since I am publishing them in series like one of those olde tyme magazines.

Book Two: Winter’s Dawn

Our hero’s childhood, the longest long-form pause to the plot ever conceived. A tale of sadness and loss, and the tar baby of trauma.

Book Three: Winter’s End

The actual conclusion promised for book one.

Redemption for our hero? Well, if you know me, you know I don’t do happy endings. But there is a conclusion, so that’s something, right?

Right?
